Financial Assistance

  1. Auxiliary Grant (AG)

    The Auxiliary Grant (AG) program provides an income supplement for individuals who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and certain other aged, blind, or disabled individuals.

  2. General Relief (GR)

    The General Relief (GR) Program provides monetary assistance for needy children under 18 who would be eligible for TANF except for the relationship requirement.

  3. Medical Assistance Programs (MA)

    There are several Medical Assistance Programs offered in Virginia.

  4. Senior Citizens Tax Relief

    The two components of the Senior Citizens Tax Relief program are designed to either reduce or freeze the Real Estate Tax Liability for qualified elderly and/or disabled homeowners.

  5. Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

    A goal of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is to reduce hunger and increase food security.

  6. Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)

    TANF provides temporary financial assistance to eligible families with children.

  7. TANF - Diversionary Assistance

    The prevention of potential TANF recipients from becoming ongoing TANF recipients is the goal of the Diversionary Assistance Program.

  8. TANF - Unemployed Parent

    The Temporary Assistance for Needy Families - Unemployed Parent (TANF-UP) Program is intended to provide assistance to families with two able-bodied parents.
