    Adoption is a social and legal process which establishes the relationship of parent and child between people who do not have this relationship by birth.

    The goal of Child Protective Services is to identify, assess and provide services to children and families in an effort to protect children, preserve families, whenever possible, and prevent further maltreatment.

  3. Childcare

    The Childcare Program provides funding to enhance the quality, affordability, and supply of child care available to Virginia's families.

  4. Children Services Act (CSA)

    The philosophy of the Children's Services Act Office is based on the belief that it’s most important community responsibility is the well-being of children.

  5. Foster Care

    Foster parents are people (single or married; employed inside or outside the home) who provide a safe and nurturing home to children who are in the custody of a local department of Social Services.
