Fee Schedule

BUILDING PERMIT FEES

Building permit fees are based on the building use group and prorated based on the square footage of the construction. The minimum fee is $50.00. A 2% levy fee will be assessed on the total permit fee.

1. Use Group A-Assembly:

  • Up to 1,000 sq. ft. $ 9.00 per 100 sq. ft. Minimum fee $50.00

  • 1000 – 5,000 sq. ft. $ 90.00 for the first 1,000 sq. ft. plus $8.00 per 100 sq. ft.

  • 5,001 sq. ft. + $410.00 for the first 5,000 sq. ft. plus $7.00 per 100 sq. ft.

2. Use Group B-Business, M-Mercantile:

  • Up to 2,000 sq. ft. $ 9.00 per 100 sq. ft. Minimum fee $50.00

  • 2,000 – 9,999 sq. ft. $ 180.00 for the first 2,000 sq. ft. plus $8.00 per 100 sq. ft.

  • 10,000–24,999 sq. ft. $ 820.00 for the first 10,000 sq. ft. plus $7.00 per 100 sq. ft.

  • 25,000 sq. ft. + $1,870.00 for the first 25,000 sq. ft. plus $6.00 per 100 sq. ft. or  fraction

3. Use Group F-Factory and Industrial:

  • 100 - 1,999 sq. ft. $ 9.00 per 100 sq. ft. or fraction. Minimum fee $50.00

  • 2,000 - 4,999 sq. ft. $180.00 for the first 2,000 sq. ft. plus $8.00 per 100 sq. ft. or fraction

  • 5,000 sq. ft. + $420.00 for the first 5,000 sq. ft. plus $6.00 per 100 sq. ft. or fraction thereof, without limit

4. Use Group H-Hazardous Storage or Occupancy:

  • 0 - 4,999 sq. ft. $ 9.00 per 100 sq. ft. or fraction. Minimum fee $50.00

  • 5,000-9,999 sq. ft. $450.00 for the first 5,000 sq. ft. plus $8.00 per 100 sq. ft. or fraction

  • 10,000 sq. ft. + $820.00 for the first 10,000 sq. ft. plus $6.00 per 100 sq. ft. or fraction without limit

5. Use Group I-Institutional:

  • 0 - 999 sq. ft. $ 9.00 per 100 sq. ft. or fraction. Minimum fee $50.00

  • 1,000-1,999 sq. ft. $ 90.00 for the first 1,000 sq. ft. plus $8.00 100 sq. ft. or fraction

  • 2,000-4,999 sq. ft. $170.00 for the first 2,000 sq. ft. plus $7.00 per 100 sq. ft. or fraction

  • 5,000 sq. ft. + $380.00 for the first 5,000 sq. ft. plus $6.00 per 100 sq. ft. or fraction without limit

6. Use Group O- Residential Garages, Porches, Decks and Similar accessory Residential Buildings:

  • 0 - 999 sq. ft. $ 7.00 per 100 sq. ft. or fraction. Minimum fee $50.00

  • 1,000 sq. ft. + $ 70.00 for the first 1,000 sq. ft. plus $5.00 per 100 sq. ft. or fraction

7. Use Group R-Residential:

  • 0 - 1,999 sq. ft. $ 7.00 per 100 sq. ft. or fraction. Minimum fee $50.00

  • 2,000-4,999 sq. ft. $ 140.00 for the first 2,000 sq. ft. plus $6.00 per 100 sq. ft. or fraction

  • 5,000 sq. ft. + $ 320.00 for the first 5,000 sq. ft. plus $5.00 per 100 sq. ft. or fraction without limit

8. Use Group S-Storage:

  • 0 - 1,999 sq. ft. $ 7.00 per 100 sq. ft. or fraction. Minimum fee $50.00

  • 2,000-4,999 sq. ft. $ 140.00 for the first 2,000 sq. ft. plus $6.00 per 100 sq. ft. or fraction

  • 5,000 sq. ft. + $ 320.00 for the 5,000 sq. ft. plus $5.00 per 100 sq. ft. or fraction without limit

9. Use Group T

a. Alterations, Repairs, Private Piers, Bulkheads, Pools, Walls, Siding, Commercial Interior Finish, Miscellaneous Structures:

The minimum fee shall be $50.00

Valuation: Fees

$ 0 - $4,999 $ 50.00 per $1,000.00 or fraction

$5,000 - $19,999 $ 250.00 for the first $5,000.00 plus $10.00 per additional $1,000.00 or fraction

$20,000- $99,999 $400.00 for the first $20,000 plus $5.00 per additional $1,000.00 or fraction

$100,000 and up $800.00 for the first $100,000.00 plus $4.00 per additional $1,000.00 or fraction

b. Tents, Mobile Homes and Other Temporary Structures:

  1. Tents and other temporary structures - $50.00

  2. New placement of Mobile home on a site for tie down and foundation-$50.00

  3. Replacement of mobile home on site for tie-down and foundation-$50.00

Plan Review Fees

In addition to permit fees, there shall be a fee for the review of construction plans for all matters for which permits are mandated by the building code including, but not limited to, building permits, electrical permits, plumbing permits and mechanical permits, in accordance with fee schedule as follows:

1. New construction and additions to one- and two-family buildings:

  1. Under two thousand (2,000) sq. ft. Minimum fee $50.00

  2. Over two thousand (2,000) sq. ft. Minimum fee $80.00

2. All other structures:

  1. 0 - 2,499 sq. ft……………………… …….$ 80.00

  2. 2,500 sq. ft. to 4,999 sq. ft………………..$120.00

  3. 5,000 sq. ft. to 9,999 sq. ft………………..$160.00

  4. 10,000 sq. ft. to 74,999 sq. ft……………..$200.00

  5. 75,000 sq. ft. and up……………......……..$240.00

3. Existing structures when altered and area of the building contains 3,000 sq. ft. or more, or exceeds 2 ½ stories in height……………………...$100.00

Plumbing

The minimum plumbing permit fee is $50.00 plus $5.00 per fixture and type of inspection. A $50.00 per trip fee will be charged for site work inspections. A 2% state levy will be assessed on the total permit fee.

Mechanical Permit Fees

The permit fee is $50.00 or 9/10 of 1% of the current value of all service, labor, materials and equipment whichever is the greater figure.

For the installation of one (1) kitchen hood vent and not more than three (3) bathroom vents in a single-family dwelling, the fee shall be $50.00.

For the installation of standpipes, the fee shall be $50.00 for each riser, plus $2.50 for each floor served by that riser.

A 2% state levy fee will be assessed on that total permit fee.

Commercial Inspection Fees

Inspections are required for existing property being occupied by a new tenant or owner, or by the same tenant or owner if the nature of the property use is changing. The cost of the permit and inspections is $100.00.

Moving Permit Fees

Moving permit fees are based on the size and location of the structure to be moved and range from $50.00 to $500.00.

Demolition Permit Fees

The fee for a demolition permit is $50.00 for any Single Family Structure to be demolished, and $450.00 for any other structure to be demolished.

A fee for inspection of the sealed sewer lateral is $25.00, or the city will seal the sewer lateral for $100.00. These fees and inspections are handled by the Public Utilities Department.

Sign Permit Fees

Permits and fees are required for erection, painting, placing, replacing, hanging, and rehanging of signs.

The sign permit fee ranges from $50.00 to $60.00 depending on the size of the sign. There is an additional $30.00 fee for review of sign application.

Appeal Fees

There is a $100.00 fee for the appeals to the Board of Building Code Appeals or the Board of Zoning Appeals.

Electrical Fee Schedule

The minimum permit fee is $50.00. Separate fees are charged for change of service, new service, etc. A 2% state levy will be assessed on the total permit fee.

Section 118.9 Schedule of Electric Fees established. The schedule of fees for the inspection of electrical wiring shall be as follows:
