Appealing Parking Tickets

The Portsmouth General District Court hours for appealing parking tickets are between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., during normal business days Monday through Friday.

Appeals Form

Defendants in possession of their parking tickets may come to the Portsmouth General District Court at 1345 Court Street, Suite 104 to fill out the appeal form. The form requires name, address and vehicle information. The defendant will be served with a summons and will be given a court date for trial.

Obtain Ticket

Defendants who do not have a copy of their parking ticket will need to obtain a copy of their parking ticket or automated violation from the Portsmouth Police Department, Central Records at 711 Crawford Street.

Entry to the building is on Water Street. The Central Records Department will provide the defendant with a Parking Violation Appeal Form. This form requires name, address and vehicle information. The defendant will be directed to the Portsmouth General District Court at 1345 Court Street, Suite 104 where the defendant will be served with a summons and given a court date for trial.
