Bees are important pollinators and the City of Portsmouth is very aware of the concerns over the use of pesticides.  We request that you inform us of your hive locations by calling Public Works Mosquito Control Division at 757-393-8666.  This allows us to create a no-spray buffer zone around the hives and will put you on a notification list when there is spraying operations scheduled for your area. This information will not be shared with any other departments and is solely designed to keep open communication between beekeepers and the mosquito control division.
