City Council earmarked $30,000 in FY 2024 for neighborhood enhancement project funding to encourage residents to take a more active role in the beautification of our city.
Grant Program Categories
The Neighborhood Incentive Grant will provide grant opportunities for Neighborhood Enhancement Projects.
Three (3) funding categories:
Beautification
Neighborhood Improvement
Special Community Initiatives
Projects must comply with all city codes and ordinances
Eligibility
(Same as all previous Fiscal Years)
Civic Leagues must be registered with the City Clerk’s Office
Neighborhood Watch organizations must be registered with the Portsmouth Police Department
Other neighborhood groups supported & endorsed by their respective Civic League
Instructions
Annual (1X) application cycle
One application per neighborhood
Projects must have their signed Civic League support
Signed Award Agreement with City
Documentation and Close Out
Projects must be completed by May 31, 2024
Project closeout within 30 days of completion, including Final Report
