Christopher L. Woodard, Jr.
As the new councilman of the City of Portsmouth, Christopher Woodard is both diligent in his approach and committed to the citizens of Portsmouth. His prior work experience has shown his fortitude, enthusiasm, and his passion for service in many local areas. Over the years, he has gained long-lasting friendships as a Lowes Administrative in midtown Portsmouth and he continues to circulate his fondness for service throughout his beloved locality.
From the beginning, Christopher gained an adoration for Portsmouth that I am sure many citizens can attest to. His parents Christopher Woodard Sr., Barbara Satterwhite-Woodard and his sister Crystal Woodard has shown him how to care for others, how to never quit, and how to always work hard in their passions. Christopher did just that. Now at the age of 35, Christopher has fostered the spirit of leadership and resilience that has catapulted his friends, family, and now his community. He is committed to making Portsmouth a staple using his top-tired talents in mass communications, business development, and marketing.
From making a mark in the hallways of historical I.C. Norcom High School to gaining lifelong professional relations with his media professors and peers, he has shown his past that he is ready to make emboldened footprints in the future. While matriculating credits at NSU, he engineered an entrepreneurial blueprint for his own media company. His Company would go on to produce a two-television broadcast that aired in Virginia & North Carolina markets. He would go on to created 60 plus television shows and 104 airings in his lifetime.
Further in his endeavors at Lowes, after successfully graduating from Manager Training School, Chris continued working as a Contractor Specialist and eventually Administrative Manager for Lowes for 15 years. This tenure has given him a chance to create business relationships throughout the Portsmouth community. Servicing property managers, government purchasing agents, city workers, Norfolk naval shipyard purchasing agents, and real estate companies to state a few. Christopher has garnered a partnership with these hardworking professionals that have made fluently changed him into a trusted source in Portsmouth, VA.
Christopher is excited about this new chapter in his life and how he can partner with local citizens to make Portsmouth a better place for all. He encourages all citizens to stand for change, to support the youth, and to embolden the economic stability of this great city.
Lastly, Christopher acknowledges his most prize possession and role in life is fathering his soon to be 6 year old son; Christopher "Topher" Woodard III. Christopher is also overly excited to expand his family by welcoming a new edition to his family. Christopher will welcome a daughter "Crislynn Dior Woodard" early March of this year. Christopher takes pride in being a role model for his children and setting the best example.
