Can I submit a paper application?
The city only accepts online applications submitted through the City of Portsmouth Career Portal.

City of Portsmouth Career Portal.

How can I find out the status of my application?
You will receive an email once your application has been successfully submitted, that it has been received. After that, within the 2 weeks of the job posting closing date, you will either receive a phone call if you are a selected candidate or an email with further information about your submission.
4.
Can I still apply for a job if I missed the deadline?
Once a closing date has passed, no additional applications will be accepted.
5.
If I previously applied for a position, will you automatically be considered for the same position if it is reposted?
An application must be submitted for each posting. If a position is reposted, a new application is required to be considered for the position.
6.
Can I update my application after it has been submitted?
You cannot go back and update your application once it has been submitted.
7.
Who will contact me if I am selected for an interview?
A department representative will contact you.
8.
How can I determine if I meet the requirements for the position?
